Ken Warren (U-98 propellers) grew up in the Tri-Cities as an unlimited Hydroplane Racing Fan. Ken is an avid fan of motorboat racing and boating in general. He is also spends time with classic car restoration. He began his unlimited crew racing career by working on the Jim Harvey Motorsports Racing Team from 1999 through 2005 and moved over to the Fred Leland U99 race team for 2006 and the U100 in 2007. Ken was part of the build crew for the U2 2004 Trendwest boat and assisted with the 1982 Atlas restoration for the Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum. Ken is well versed in boat preparation, off season repairs, boat construction, ground support, race day action, propellers, skid fin, and boat repair. In 2008 Ken stepped away from boat racing to focus on his family. Ken was invited to join Team Porter in 2015 and crewed with the U-7 team and was reunited with J Michael Kelly in 2016 for an epic season culminating with a 2016 Gold Cup Championship, Ken is a Capital Program Leader for the Port of Seattle and has worked for Sea-Tac Airport as the Mechanical Facilities Manager and Project Manager for 15 years. Ken is currently the Program Leader for the NorthSTAR Program at Sea-Tac Airport. He received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Central Washington University, is a registered professional engineer, and is accomplished internationally for airport and airplane mechanical systems. He lives in Kent with his wife and two sons, enjoys soccer, and fishing when not boat racing. Ken works on propellers, skid fin, and ground support for the U-98 Graham Racing as well as “all around support” for 2019.
